Infinity Digital is Gaugemaster’s own ground-up wireless DCC control system, designed, developed and built in the UK for small to medium layouts across N, TT, HO and OO scale. The Base Unit comes with wireless Bluetooth control built in, giving up to 50 metres of range from the handset, so there’s no longer a choice to make between wired and wireless operation.
Out of the box, the Base Unit supports two handsets for shared operation, and the system expands with an Infinity Handset Receiver Unit or Infinity Digital Expansion Unit, each adding two further handsets, with the Expansion Unit also adding an extra power district. Multiple expansion units can be linked together, scaling from a small home layout up to a large exhibition setup. A standout feature is Multiple Working Consist, which makes double-heading straightforward while still allowing full, independent sound function control for each locomotive within the consist, proper Multiple Working rather than American-style consisting in name only.
The system is fully NMRA compatible, running at 3.3 amps with 68 fully customisable light and sound function buttons, a library of up to 100 locomotives and 100 accessories, and a Share feature for passing locomotive and accessory setups between handsets. Further features include Yard/Drive mode, an Animation Sequence function, a Scale Clock and speed display, and an optional locomotive fuel tank simulation. CVs can be programmed on the main line or a dedicated programming track, with read-back support. The backlit display stays legible in any lighting, and the package includes a smooth, regulated UK power supply, wireless handset, lanyard, connector plugs and batteries, ready to run straight from the box.
