Description

This is the Woodland Scenics Buff coarse ballast shaker. Buff ballast reflects limestone-based stone, historically common in the Midlands, where local quarries gave the trackbed a lighter, paler tone than the granite ballast used further north and west.

This coarse grade shaker holds 945cm3 of material. This coarse grade suits larger scales such as O gauge, or gives the look of freshly relaid track, where the stone is still large and sharp-edged rather than worn smooth by traffic. Deluxe Materials Ballast Bond is the better choice over a standard glue here, spreading evenly and giving a stronger, longer-lasting bond once dry.
