This is the Rapido D Fews Explosives van model. Some narrow gauge cargoes were considerably more hazardous than coal or stone, and this gunpowder van represents the specialist vehicles used to move explosives safely around quarries, mines and contractor’s sites, a genuine if unglamorous corner of narrow gauge traffic.

This example is finished in D. Fews Explosives livery.

This Rapido model runs on metal wheels and is fitted with NEM coupler pockets using OO9 ‘Hook and Loop’ couplings, compatible with other manufacturers’ narrow gauge stock. A high level of detail is captured both above and below the floor line, finished with a high-quality livery application, all to 1:76 scale (OO9 gauge) and designed in the UK.
